Outfit of the Week No. 35

– #Fasting Fashion

Anna wears:
Tchibo Organic Cotton Blouse | Vintage dress and boots | Maas Natur beanie

Maybe you’ve already noticed our (or our fellow companions’) stories: via Fashion Revolution Germany we initiated a nearly 8-week long fashion fasting in March. The official motto: #fastingfashion.

What does that, personally, mean for me in March and April? Like Wiebke from Sloris I will avoid buying anything new during the upcoming weeks.  And – that’s my real challenge: in addition, I’ll try to avoid reaching for the same dress day in, day out. Especially when I travel a lot, it quickly happens to me that I get along with two favorite pieces for a good week – and a large part of my clothes remain untouched in the closet. This month I’d like to get to know my own wardrobe a lot better and then decide what I actually really need. To begin with I did a little stocktaking, focusing on the tops (blouses, sweaters, shirts) I somehow wear way too seldom like this organic cotton blouse by Tchibo we first showed you here for example. Is it because they actually don’t fit my taste anymore? Indeed not! The reason is mostly that I find it hard to combine tops and bottoms quickly in the morning and rather throw over a dress. That’s why every top has now been assigned a matching bottom (in this case, an oh-so fun vintage denim dress from Amsterdam based Zipper Vintage because fasting should look everything else than »triste«). The test to see which clothes are actually destined to stay and be worn again can begin!⁣
